Local Wines and varietal Wines

RIED SPIEGEL

Grüner Veltliner

Ried Spiegel is one of the highest-lying vineyard sites of Feuersbrunn. The name Spiegel dates back to the Old High German word spekulare, which among other interpretations, means far view. The mixture of loess, red tertiary gravel and the adjacent forests is ideal for cultivating fresh Veltliners with mineral spiciness, which never get too opulent or heavy.

KATHARINA

Grüner Veltliner

The particular character of this Grüner Veltliner is mainly influenced by loess soil. It is a perfect blend of grapes resulting from several harvest runs, producing a wine with great freshness, and an intense varietal character, paired with a quite powerful finish. This Veltliner shows lovely aromas of tropical fruits and citrus notes.

ROTER VELTLINER

Known as a speciality of our region this wine displays aromas of flower honey, quince and tangerines, very complex with a beautifully balanced acidity.

Riesling

FEUERSBRUNN

Here it is the loess soil that defines the terroir characteristics. A medium structured Riesling with fresh citrus notes, stone fruit, racy and piquant.

SAUVIGNON BLANC

Fresh nose with elderflower notes, beautifully structured, very mature but very racy at the same time.

CHARDONNAY

Creamy, mostly full bodied wine with a great variety of tropical aromas. Ageing for one year makes this wine harmonious.

Single vineyard wines

We are of the opinion that it takes one year for very powerful and mature white wines to reach their point of drinkability, these wines are bottled in early summer and put on sale in autumn.

RIED SPIEGEL ALTE REBEN

GRÜNER VELTLINER

For this Veltliner we used grapes from 40 – 50 year old vines and from the last run of the wine harvest. A great wine that shows aromas of roasted chestnuts and yellow apples, delicate mineral spiciness, powerful yet enough finesse.

RIED ROSENBERG

GRÜNER VELTLINER

Though similarly produced from grapes from the last harvest run, this wine is the Spiegel counterpart. Considerable loess influence and thus opulent, almost with a baroque appearance, with pineapple and pear aromas.

RIED LOSLING

RIESLING

Cultivated on terraced sites with red tertiary gravel, this Riesling displays an aroma of mature stone fruit and a full body, always along with a hint of flintstone . Beautifully matured with good acidity structure, thus very racy and piquant.

Saphir

When we talk about our fully developed Saphir wines we also need to talk about young people and their fresh innovative spirit. It is Florian, the youngest family member, who brings new ideas to life and likes to experiment with the skills he gained during his internships. Spontaneous fermentation, fermentation and storage in wooden barrels or other containers, prolonged lees contact and a long maturation period characterize these wines.

WEISSER SAPHIR

WEISSER BURGUNDER

Vanilla and coconut notes paired with tropical aromas, fruity sweetness; ideal for longer storage.

ROTER SAPHIR

ROTER VELTINER

Yellow apple, quince, some honey, mineralic and perfect for longer storage.

Red Wines and Rosé Wines

ROSE

Fresh meadow herbs and a racy finish. The perfect summer wine.

ZWEIGELT

Aromas of sour cherries and coffee, pleasantly soft tannin structure, opulent body. Storage up to one year in second fill oak barrels.

BELLA VIKTORIA

Blend of Zweigelt and Cabernet Sauvignon, with spicy aromas in the foreground, followed by cherry and vanilla aromas. Strong, yet soft tannins, pleasant length. Two years of storage in new oak barrels.
